How to actually set yourself up for success.
Hey, it's your Uncle Zip with another tip!
I like to think about the things I do each day in terms of how much "friction" each task has to complete it. For example, grabbing a cold can of soda from the fridge is a very low friction activity, comparably, getting a glass out of the cupboard, getting ice, then filling it with water, and waiting for it to cool has significantly higher friction to getting a refreshing drink.
If I want to drink more water and less soda, then I have to modify the coefficient of friction for each of these options or I will always drink the soda, get diabetes, and die. So what we can do is buy 2-liter bottles instead of cans, and store them out in the garage so it's not convenient or cold. Then we can buy some mason jars, fill them with water and put them in the fridge.
Now apply this to everything in your life, make success frictionless, failure as abrasive as pavement, and remember that everything takes longer than we expect so cut yourself some slack.
